Role Overview & Responsibilities

Responsible for the central recruitment of healthcare assistants within South Tees NHS Foundation Trust.



Line Management of the mobile healthcare support worker team



Oversight of the onboarding process of applicants



Assist with the delivery of coaching and mentoring healthcare support workers across the South Tees Trust incorporating career advice and guidance.



Involvement in the planning and some delivery of the care certificate and ongoing clinical skills programme.



Provide (on ward) training and support to healthcare support workers



Establish a healthcare support worker forum that will be chaired monthly by the successful applicant



Work collaboratively with the clinical apprenticeship team to support the delivery of the clinical apprenticeship programmes and ensure mandatory observations are completed in the clinical area



Liaise with educational providers and act as the conduit with clinical practice areas and multi-disciplinary teams.



Assist the support structure for clinical apprenticeships across the organisation



The role will be key in supporting new healthcare support workers so stay and stay well in the organisation



The need to be confident in building relationships and facilitating positive working environments for healthcare support workers



Raise the profile of healthcare support worker retention and share good practice with others and provide support to ward managers.
