Following the growth of our business we are now looking to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Exchange & Completions team who can support the Legal team and Conveyancing department.



Our Residential Conveyancing department works as a team, providing ongoing and consistent support to each other. This means that a good work life balance is actively encouraged!



Job Purpose



We are looking for an ambitious and experienced legal assistant who has a passion for Residential Conveyancing.



The exchange and completions team are vital to the success of our Residential Conveyancing function by offering support to the legal team and by providing all the necessary information to our clients to complete the sale or purchase of their property.



Responsibilities and

Duties


To assist Legal Team in the management of caseload by actioning legal procedures and dealing with file related queries either face to face or by telephone


To complete tasks competently and within defined timescales to stay in line with Service Level Agreements


Preparation, checking and sending of documents e.g., Certificates of Title as well as chasing information including searches, mortgage offers, mortgage redemptions


Work through the Lyons Bowe key date stages to ensure all tasks are completed on time for both purchase and sales


Ensure that all relevant documentation is sent to clients on time and explained fully


Provide clients with real time updates on the progress of their sale or purchase


Ensure that key date stages are updated on the Lyons Bowe system to reflect the work carried out


Requirements


Completed, or working towards, the Level 4 Conveyancing (or similar) qualification


Experience working within a busy residential conveyancing team


To be able to work to a high standard and possess a fine attention to detail and to be organised and efficient whilst working under pressure


Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Here at Lyons Bowe we offer all of our employees the opportunity to grow and develop with the firm. As a Legal Assistant within the Residential Conveyancing team, once you have completed your 6-month probationary period, you will be given the opportunity to study for the CLC Licensed Conveyancing Level 4 qualification, all fully funded by the firm and through our training partner, LTC Kent.



Once you have completed your CLC Licensed Conveyancing Level 4 qualification you will be given the opportunity to progress to the next level, the CLC Licensed Conveyancing Level 6, and at this time will be promoted to Trainee Conveyancer and move to a fee earning position in the firm. The Level 6 course takes approximately 2 years to complete and once passed, you will become a Newly Qualified Licensed Conveyancer.



Other Routes to Qualification


CILEx



The CILEx CPQ route consists of 3 separate qualifications:

Foundation Paralegal – 18 months


Advanced Paralegal – 18 months


Professional – 12 months



With CILEx you have the flexibility to study to become a Chartered Legal Executive whilst also working towards your career goals and offers you the opportunity to develop legal skills and knowledge in a variety of different areas.
